An enabling function supports the infrastructure of an organization which includes:  Facilities, Equipment, Secretarial Support, Data Collection and Reporting, Financial Management, Resource Development, Transportation, Marketing/Public Awareness/Advocacy/Public Communications, Governing Board Leadership, and Personnel Policies and Practices. 

We at Square Knot believe that the number one cause of organizational failure is enabling function abandonment.  For many organizations, not having the capacity to operate every single area of enabling functions is not abnormal.
